OMIC Council

Secretariat Support

  The Ministry of Northern Development and Mines (MNDM), through its Executive Projects Office (EPO), provides Secretariat Support and Project Management Services to the Ontario Mineral Industry Cluster Council (OMICC) and its Working Groups. Roles and responsibilities of MNDM's EPO include:
  • Advise Co-Chairs, Deputy Minister and Assistant Deputy Ministers on business relating to the Ontario Mineral Industry Cluster Council and recommend course(s) of action;
  • Arrange meetings (timing, venue, equipment, hospitality, guest speakers, etc.) and develop meeting agendas;
  • Prepare Project Plans and track Action Items arising from the meetings and monitor the council and Working Group operational plans;
  • Prepare correspondence, proposals, submissions, presentations and discussion papers on behalf of the Council and Ministry senior officials;
  • Develop written collateral such as news releases, brochures, fact sheets, etc;
  • Keep abreast of emerging issues, global trends, best practices, lessons learned and share information with the OMICC members;
  • Liaise with OPS Ministries, federal government departments and organizations on policies, programs and initiatives impacting the OMIC and advise the Council.
  • Maintain OMICC Web site; and,
  • Plan and organize cluster workshops and forums.
